Module 2: Run an Extract
To extract a Participant Guide from a Facilitator Guide:
Open the Facilitator Guide you want to extract from.
Click Extract in the Controls group on the LGPro ribbon
Next:
Select the option Current Guidebook >>> To Another Type of Guidebook
Next:
Set up your Participant Guide using the Start a New Guidebook dialog box
Under Type:
Select Participant
Under Collection:
Choose the Collection you would like to use.
It does not have to be the same as the Facilitator Guide
Click OK in the bottom of the dialog box to create your Participant Guide
When prompted, SAVE your new Participant Guide
After you Save your new Participant Guide
You will see the Extract and Create a New Guidebook dialog box
It will list all the Content Blocks in your Facilitator Guide
Check the boxes next to the Content Block types you want to extract
As you check a box next to a Content Block name
An image of the Content Block icon will appear to help you verify that you have chosen a block you want to extract
Optionally, if you have also marked certain blocks for selective extract:
Check the box for Manually Selected
Once you have checked the boxes for everything you want to extract:
Click Start in the bottom of the dialog box
After you click Start:
You will see messages in blue text above the LeaderGuide Pro logo in the dialog box
And you may see some of the blocks being added to your new Participant Guide
And your screen may jump and flash – this is normal.
Keep your hand off your mouse until the Extract is complete.
Depending on how big your Facilitator Guide is, the extract might take several minutes.
Once the extract is complete:
You will see a message in blue text above the LeaderGuide Pro logo telling you the extract is complete
And next to the Start button you will see Done
Click Done to close the dialog box
Your Facilitator Guide will still be on your screen
Hover over the Word icon in the tray along the bottom of your screen to find and bring up your new Participant Guide.
