Sync allows you to:

  • Make changes within Content Blocks in one document and easily transfer the changes into the companion Content Blocks in another document.

  • Add Participant Guide page number references into the Facilitator Guide based on companion Content Block locations

Sync requires a one for one relationship

  • Between the Content Blocks in your Facilitator Guide and the companion Content Blocks in your Participant Guide.

  • For example:

    • If you extracted Key Points blocks

    • And you want to Sync content updates and/or page number references for Key Points blocks

    • LeaderGuide Pro will count the number of Key Points blocks in your Facilitator Guide & your Participant Guide

    • For the Sync to work as expected, both guidebooks need to have the same number of Key Points blocks

Because:

  • When you run a Sync, LeaderGuide Pro will update the content in every Content Block of the type(s) you have requested

So LeaderGuide Pro will tell you if you have a mismatch as you start the sync process.

  • For example, it will tell you that you have 15 Key Points blocks in your Facilitator Guide and 17 in your Participant Guide

  • But it won’t be able to tell you exactly where the mismatch is – you will need to find it.

  • Use the Go To function on the LGPro ribbon to efficiently go from one specific type of Content Block to the next occurrence of that block type

Before you proceed with a Sync:

  • Open your Facilitator Guide and its companion Participant Guide

  • Save a COPY of both documents

    • We suggest including “COPY” in the filename of each saved guidebook

  • Keep open only one version of each guidebook

  • Close any other open Word documents.
