Set Your Preferences

Set your Preferences as you get started with george!

These will automatically apply to the PowerPoint handouts you create with george! to save time.

To begin:

  • Open PowerPoint

  • Click the george! tab along the top of your screen to bring up the george! ribbon

  • Click User on the george! ribbon

  • This will bring up the User Preferences dialog box

  1. In the User Preferences dialog box…

  2. Your logo will appear on the cover page of the documents you create. Click Browse to select the image file to use.

  3. Enter your copyright information. It will appear on the inside of the cover page.

  4. Click “YES” to Slide Border. All slide images that you import into your handouts will be bordered with a single line frame, set at 0.25 point weight. Leave this box unchecked if you prefer not to have a border around your slide images.

  5. Click “YES” to Revision Date. A revision date will automatically be inserted on the inside cover page along with your copyright. The date is inserted when the document is first created. It does not update each time you open the document for editing. You can manually edit the date in the document if needed. Leave this box unchecked if you prefer not to have a revision date.

  6. Click Browse to select a default folder to save all documents created with george! You can override this as you are saving individual documents.

  7. Click OK to Save your preferences. You can update these settings any time you want to.
