How to convert existing content to LGPro?
LeaderGuide Pro version 8 users
FYI: In the How Do I.. section of this web site there is a video that shows you how to do this, under "CURRENT LGPro...".
- Save a copy of your existing document to work with
- Attach the leader guide, participant guide or e-leader guide template to the copy of your existing document
- All of the LGPro ribbon button will now work in your existing document
- To move content into a Block, highlight the content and click on the block you want it to be in
- To format the text, place your cursor in it and click on the appropriate LGPro text formatting button
- To add a Module or a Lesson, place your cursor by a stand-alone paragraph mark and click on the LGPro Module or Lesson button
- To move converted content into a full leader guide, participant workbook or e-leader guide, use Librarian to archive your content and then to Insert your archived content in to your LGPro document
Users of OLD versions of LeaderGuide Pro
Upgrade to the current version of LeaderGuide Pro. Or:
- Open your existing document and save it with a new name
- Delete any cover page, table of contents, back cover page, section breaks, headers & footers
- If you have Heading 1 and Heading 2 designations you might want to go through and change those to Normal for now - and you might type in "H1" or "H2" to remind yourself how the text was formatted
- Click on the LGPro tab and click on Attach
- Select the type of LGPro document you want to create and attach the template
- Now you can insert a Module and the first Lesson
- FYI: In LGPro docs Module names are Heading 1s and Lesson names are Heading 2s
- Then, highlight some text that you want to move into an LGPro Block and click on the Block you want to use to apply it
- Continue in this way until you get to the point where it makes sense to add a new lesson or a new Module and do so
- When ready, use Librarian to Archive your content so that you can then use Librarian to insert the archived content into a leader guide or and e-leader guide or a participant guide
