How to Access LeaderGuide Pro

 

Once LeaderGuide Pro is installed on your computer:

  1. Open Word
  2. Look along the top of your screen
  3. Click on the LGPro tab to bring up the ribbon

Mac users: Please see guidance at the bottom of this page.


If you want to use LeaderGuide Pro Elements instead of LeaderGuide Pro Plus, follow the steps above to bring up the LGPro ribbon and:

  1. Click the Help button at the end of the LGPro ribbon
  2. In the drop down Help Menu, click on "Switch to Elements"
  3. Accept the prompt to close Word
  4. Re-open Word and Elements will be available to you instead of Plus

 

If you do not see the LGPro tab along the top
of your screen in Word:

Assuming LeaderGuide Pro is installed, this probably means that the LeaderGuide Pro add-in has become disabled. Please follow the steps below to determine if that is the case, and if so, to fix it. 

  1. In Word, click the File tab or Microsoft Office Button in the upper left corner of your screen
  2. Click on Options > Add-Ins
  3. Look in the Inactive Application Add-ins list
    for LeaderGuide Pro

 

Assuming LeaderGuide Pro is in that list:

  1. Look down to the MANAGE box
  2. You should see "COM Add-ins"
  3. Click Go, check the box next to LeaderGuide Pro and click OK

 

If you don't see Leader Guide Pro in the Inactive Application Add-ins list, look in the Disabled Application Add-ins list and assuming LeaderGuide Pro is in that list:

  1. Look down to the MANAGE box
  2. Use the little down arrow to change from "COM Add-ins" to "Disabled Items"
  3. Click Go, check the box next to LeaderGuide Pro and click OK
  4. Then... Look down to the MANAGE box again
  5. Use the little down arrow to change from "Disabled Items" to "COM Add-ins"
  6. Click Go, check the box next to LeaderGuide Pro and click OK

 

If you follow the steps above and LeaderGuide Pro is in the Active Applications Add-ins list but you still don't see the LGPro tab along the top of your screen:

  1. Look down to the MANAGE box
  2. You should see "COM Add-ins". Click Go.
  3. If there is more than one listing for LeaderGuide Pro highlight each one and read the information about each. Remove the one that is referencing a prior version of LeaderGuide Pro and make sure the remaining one has a check next to it.

 

If you follow the steps above everything is
as expected for LeaderGuide Pro  but you still don't see the LGPro tab along the top of your screen:

  1. In Word, click the File tab or Microsoft Office Button
  2. Click on Options > Customize Ribbon
  3. Make sure there is a check mark next to LGPro Plus v11

 

If LeaderGuide Pro was disabled and
following the steps above did not help...

There are two likely possibilities. Either your anti-virus software is stopping the add-in from running, or you do not have the necessary user permissions required to run LeaderGuide Pro. Please ask your IT support group to make sure you have the required permissions, which can be found in our System Requirements.

 

If you have the necessary permissions:

  1. Use Control Panel to Uninstall LeaderGuide Pro
  2. Temporarily disable your anti-virus software
  3. Re-install LeaderGuide Pro
  4. Open Word and allow LeaderGuide Pro to complete it's setup in Word
  5. Re-enable your anti-virus software.

 

To Access LeaderGuide Pro on a Mac

  1. Open Word
  2. Click on Files > New from Template
  3. Select My Templates
  4. Choose LGPro10Mac
  5. Two LGPro Toolbars should now be showing at the top of your screen
  6. If not, click View > Toolbars
