Let me tell you my story...

As President of Stockton Training and Consulting, I am an independent consultant that designs and develops custom training products. I purchased this software in 2008, for use with a single client. I needed to maximize my productivity in order to meet my client’s timeline.

By using this software, I would estimate that I was anywhere between 140-150% more productive. This comes directly from the time saved in automating the production of the Participant Guide from what had already been created in the Leader’s Guide. I am quite sure the productivity savings would have been higher, if I was not also learning how to use the new software myself. I weighed the decision carefully before purchasing the software.

I had seen the product demonstrated at a conference several months earlier. Immediately, I was impressed and put the information into my toolkit. I knew from my previous experience as a Corporate Manager of Program Development at United Airlines that this type of tool would have tremendous value for developing consistent materials across a team of instructional designers.

However, in my new independent role, I hesitated as to whether I could really justify the investment. Did I really need to even produce a Leader’s Guide for many of my efforts? After all… as in this case, I was going to be delivering the training myself. The turning point came when the client decided to add an additional class. Now, I would have additional income and I knew I had to have a consistent delivery not only over 2 classes in a span of 7 days but 3 classes over a timeline of 3 weeks.

My timeline was extremely tight and even though I knew I would be adding to my learning curve when I didn’t have the time to breathe, the risk of not doing so seemed even greater. I’m so glad I took the plunge. LeaderGuide Pro™ allowed me to:

• Produce a truly, professional Participant Guide with integrated copies of the slides to facilitate the learning experience
• Produce a Leader’s Guide, that at first I wasn’t even going to develop, that kept me on track and made it easier to deliver 3 consistent training sessions
• Own a tool that increased my productivity and the potential of what I could design and build for others.

Plus, it increases my ability to present a very professional image and is helping me to create my custom brand.

I’m looking forward to using LeaderGuide Pro™ 7 Plus. I’m sure the new Librarian feature will also be of tremendous benefit... not only in keeping my files better catalogued and organized, but moving that productivity level improvement closer to 200% of what I could have done, by myself, before.

I would put this product for training professionals in the same category as some of our other tools like personal computers and cell phones, once you have experienced what it can do to make your life easier, you wonder how you ever lived without it.
